I agree with all of the article with the exception of:

Quote
Four vehicles were issued with Fixed Penalty Notices for their non-standard exhaust systems exceeding the legal sound readings.

What legal sound readings? There is no set legal sound limit in this country and a Lidl car park with a sound meter is not going to get an accurate reading even if there was one.

Modified exhaust systems
It’s illegal to modify the exhaust system to make a vehicle noisier after it has been ‘type approved’ (checked it meets environmental and safety standards).

The police can also take action if your vehicle’s silencer doesn’t work in the way it was designed or if you’re driving in a way that creates too much noise.

A bit vague?

From? I've never seen it written down anywhere. C&U only mentions a limit for fresh built kit cars.

i have heard there is a limit, but imo, you could just argue that you never take it up to high revs on the road or some bs.

All declared for me too, with Adrian Flux.

Just less than £200 now as well, I feel old!

Id happily feel old if my insurance was that cheap!!

Ha well it is a social/domestic only, limited miles, lives on a driveway policy as well which helps

I was worried this time around that the price might have gone up with the (stupid) new rules about not being able to give females cheaper quotes but thankfully that doesn't seem to have happened.

What is classed as a faulty interior light?

And what offence are you committing if it doesn't work

Fair enough, but it's worded like its a major criminal offence and dangerous to have a faulty interior light lol

The one in my mk2 hasn't worked in years
