This argument has been flogged to death and then some. You don't know if it was the same driver, same bit of road, were they both manual etc etc. The gti will get to 60 quicker but not by much but as said in gear acceleration would be pretty even.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

Who even cares how fast a diesel can get off the line? That's not where Diesel engines are comfortable and for that reason shouldn't be compared to petrol in these pointless 0-60 races. If it was a GTD with a DTUK box from a rolling 3rd gear start, I bet it would hold its own against a GTI PP quite easily.

Guys, chill!! I posted it as it was the only vid I've seen where the to two dashes are visible side by side. To some people, that might be of interest if they are undecided between a GTI/D. Jeez!!!

Also it isn't a boy racer 0-60 race, it's both cars going from 0-220kmh (ish) respectively

Of course the GTI is faster...Meanwhile in the real world...

I'll be impressed when someone posts a video the shows a side-by-side counter calibrated in £ which ticks away over a 24 month company car lease period, takes into account monthly lease cost, BIK tax, depreciation, fuel costs over the period based on 20k per year, all around a driving profile which involves commuting to work, dropping kid at school and making periodic visits to Tescos.

I know this one is manual vs DSG but i still like it and gives a nice comparison between the two, i've said it before but imo the only reason you'd have a GTD over a GTI is economy, if i used my car every day to commute i would go for a GTD no question, the performance vs economy would make it ideal.
