Bosch 044 wiring issues
« on: 02 April 2014, 10:52 »
I fitted a bosch 044 fuel pump which worked to begin with but it seems ever since I removed the water/meth wiring its stopped.

Im sure its wired right but just can't seem to get it working again if anyone can work out where im messing up?

Relay
30  constant +
85  ground
86  ignition +
87  To + on fuel pump
- on pump to ground

There is 12v across 30 and 85 on the relay and 12v between 30 and ground on fuel pump.
With the ignition on there is 12v from 86 but still nothing accross the fuel pump.

Have checked fuses, used 12 Awg wire, replaced the + wire to fuel pump checked over all other wires/connections which seem fine.

I ran a wire from 87 on the relay to a working boost gauge which then didnt work so its seems to be a problem with the wiring not the pump.

Tried 3 different relays with no luck, anyone any other ideas?

my fuel pump stopped working 2 months ago,so to check it was a knackered pump rather than relay/fuses or wiring i ran 12v to the pump straight from the battery.

Right well I tried the pump straight from the battery and it didnt work. Lucky I have a spare so fitted that tested it and it works but still not from the relay.

I does not make any sense as with ignition on all pins show voltage like they should but pin 87 to pump shows nothing, same using different relays, I can't have 3 faulty relays

have you put a new 15A fuse in - because months previous to my pump packin in my car wudnt start ,knew it were fuel related . i swapped fuel pump fuse with another 15A on the board and car started but funny thing was the wipers fuse i think i swapped it with - they still worked - so what im tryin to say is try a new fuse if you already havnt done.

Yes mate new fuse in, it should be working the multimeter shows the power is there just not on the pump wire. Check it all over again tomorrow

looks like a wiring problem then .are u getting voltage through the pins on the pump plug? and is your fuel gauge working when you turn the key ?

Yeah the fuel gauge works and I get voltage showing the ground is working on the pump just not the +

So first thought it was that wire but it was fine. Then tried pin 87 on the relay and there is nothing from that even tho all the other pins show voltage.
