RAC man turns up...sits in it  has a check over, plays with steering wheel...no give at all. Calling in back up...how many RAC men does it take to fix a GTD?

Whheeeeeeyyyy all sorted an hour later. Turns out (no pun intended) but when you are on full lock and then turn the car off and then get back in the car, the steering wheel locks to the point of almost rock solid, no give or movement at all. The 2nd RAC lad who was nothing shy of a brick sh+t house had to yank it hard as hell whilst turning the key. Feel so stupid to have had to have called in the RAC but i appear not to have been the only one he was saying
And yes....keyless next time me thinks

My OCD wouldn't allow me to park on full lock. Wheels have to be straight

Totally agree.

This is my first car with keyless and I wouldn't want to go back now. I just don't even think about unlocking any more, just reach for the handle and it's open. Also the starter button not only looks way cool, but means you don't end up with scratches around the steering wheel cowling after a while.

A few days after I first picked my car up I had the same problem in the car park at work.  No matter what I did the Key would not turn to start the ignition.  Then after several minutes I managed to get it to turn.  But the strange thing is the Steering Wheel was not on lock?  I have not managed to replicate the incident again since, but is most definitely one to look out for.  I told my VW Dealer about the incident and they say they have not heard about any other case's like mine.
