Fitting a Radar Detector

Has anybody fitted a radar Detector to the MK 5 yet, i am looking to hard wire a Snooper S£ and just wondering if anybody has any good suggestion where to position the unit and where to take the live feed from. your Help would be appreciated.

Wouldn't bother mate. Waste of time - unless you like the thing going off everytime you pass a place with electronic sliding doors....

Get an Origin b2 GPS unit. FANTASTIC and comes with a laser detector. I'm an ex-traffic cop, and the technlology is moving on from the radar days - ok, still used in GATSO's, but then the location is stored anyhow.

It's wicked - No false alarms.

Didn't help though with that unmarked car hiding up the sliproad on the M5 though!!!

As far as I am aware the snooper S3 which is what I think you mean is a GPS type and no false alarms will be received. I have a snooper s4 and get no false alarms, all the GPS ones are very similar, the main factor is the manufacturers data base and how up to date it is. I have had no problems with snooper, it has warned me of every site I have come across.

As for hard wiring it in, I wouldnt do this myself, I have mine mounted on the windscreen and plugged into the cigarette lighter, it is not a problem and I can remove it from view when parked up and also use it in any vehicle I like.

I have been using a Snooper S3 NEO for ages now........NEVER once had a false alarm!  It also has laser and radar detection built into the unit (the days of having an optional plug in have gone) and the software is updated from the website.  The unit has warned me many a time of mobile vans on bridges etc.  The unit is hardwired to a ignition live under the dash, protected by a 2A in line fuse.  The wire is tucked between the windscreen and dash and cannot be seen from inside or outside the car.  I can simply uplug the unit and take it away with me for security.  Best of all, the cigarette lighter wire can be used to plug it in when I'm using wifey's car!  Hope this helps, Dave.
