Do i need to code my rcd510 to my car? It had an rcd310 before every few minites it makes a noise like its looking for a cd with the keys out can't help but think this is draining the battery the stereo is brand new genuine

My GTD was specced with the RCD 510 from new. It also makes the sound you describe, but not every few minutes; only occasionally. I've never had any issues with it draining or flattening the battery though.

What i'm asking tho is it was not standard does it need coding i fitted the rcd 510 not the factory

Ah i don't have those it works fine and shows climatronic and everything else just makes a noise like its trying to load a cd every so often which seems weird to me why is it doing it?
