The things I do to save diesel...
« on: 27 March 2014, 00:19 »

Only the MK4 could have a suspension so f**king bouncy even on bigger tyres, to be able to smash a sump while at standard height.

Where all my moneys went.

Props to Natwest/Greenflag/Kavanagh who said they would be just under an hour, I requested a straight tow as cracked sump and 25 minutes later a tow truck arrived.

Typically it was the only time in the last couple months I haven't had a 25 litre drum of oil in the boot but in saying that it probably wouldn't be fair to other road users to be pissing oil everywhere all on the M2.

This was after I stuck a couple litres in to move it:

Got a new sump, pick up and sealant to go on tomorrow, pick up pipe looks like new nearly but obviously no point in not changing it!

I was checking out my sump today ...Does it connect to the gear box? Ie, do you need to remove the box to remove the sump? My torch stoppepd working at this point so I couldn't quite see, just curious.

easy enough to do on the drive. I'd leave it draining for a few days so you don't get any drops of oil on you while you're under there too.

Poured some fresh cheap oil in and chucked in on the 2 post.

Done a fresh cheap fill with a flush and just about to drop it and use quantum.
