Front discs and pads
« on: 23 March 2014, 16:59 »
Hi all,

Just out of curiosity, what front discs and pads are people running? Mine will be due replacement soonish and was wondering what people recommend? Am I right in thinking the discs and pads are Brembo as standard?

Thanks

Dan

OE fitment is usually ate, textar or jurid or whatever else the factory has lying around at the time of build..
Never seen Brembo as OE fit from the factory, but can vouch for the quality of Brembo replacement discs as have some fitted myself
As for pads I always run 'performance' variants as I do a few track days so don't have much experience of OE pads..

Sweet cheers for the help mate. Will probably go down the brembo route for discs as I know they will be a quality item. Car isn't gonna be tracked so any recommendations for pads for 'fast-ish road use'  are welcome :)

The Brembo HP200 sport pads get decent reviews, I've had the Ferodo DS 'Performance' pads and found them very good for road use, Cosworth also do some very well regarded road pads for the GTi too..
All the above come with 'Reg90' approval which means they are road legal unlike the Ferodo DS2500 / Mintex 1144/5 etc

It all depends what you want (items being listed are more performance based)

I sell Brembo and Ferodo discs and pads (I also sell Apec, Delphi and Brake engineering brakes to give some cheaper options). If you need a quote pm me your PR number and I will see what I can do www.oemandmore.co.uk

(I can also supply Bembo Sport and Ferodo DS ranges but they are not listed on my website as yet)
