The amount of time and effort I have spent on my car is alot. I don't like having my time wasted so I guess thats what keeps me from selling it!

I always talk my self round...Yes I'll NEED that new IC and set of wheels, but I don't NEED a new car  :lipsrsealed:

All the above I have done in the past, my issue now is, I am at the stage were all the mods I need to do are expensive mods and don't have the money lol

Just out of curiosity what newer cars do they drive?? Your mk4 sounds more modified than mine and I hold my own against arial atoms and Nissan gtr

My cuz drives a 58 plate civic type r, and my friends drive a focus ST (mk2) and Honda s2000.
MY car is still running standard map atm, I have just updated my build thread (link under my sig) and Monkey my car is no-where near the quality of yours lol

the way I stop myself selling it is I know that in the future its going to lead to good things... i.e I have a few things to do on it, about £700 worth of mods. then its time to get the weekend toy, 911/caterham and keep the golf as a daily driver. if I went out and bought a brand new car, id be less inclined to buy the weekend toy, and I proberbly wouldn't be able to for a long time cause id of just bought a brand new car.

also I know many people who have got loans out to buy cars, and all of them regret it massively now. none of them are even driving the car they got the loans out for and are all still paying them off...

In the bigger picture, most people need a car that gest you from A to B. If it does that, and you can have a bit of fun on the way then it is a bonus.

You must live within your means. Don't go taking out a loan for a car, I know people who have made 4 figure mistakes on things like that.

I see all these new car and I am a little bit jealous. But then my car is unique (he says driving the only moddyfied mk4 in the UK ) and looks different. The only thing I'm jealous of with new cars is the DRLs!  :undecided:

I bet half the peeople in new cars cannot properly afford them, pay through the nose on deals where they don't actually own the car.

Be happy.

I only asked out of curiosity as I'm a member on the BMW cutters forum and someone asked a similar question a while ago and when he referred to newer cars he meant some big power evos and modified r35 gtr

I say...... Rent a garage 10 miles away and stick her in it, then only use it as a weekend car! Then every sat and Sunday you be smiling!

My only real advice is don't borrow for a car it's just not worth it :)
