Mk5 gt sport tdi

Hi guys, I'm looking for a new car and I've basically whittled it down to a choice between a mk5 tdi or a civic cdti. I wouldn't imagine anyone on here would point me in the direction of the civic so I'd just like to know if there are any specific problems I should look for on the mk5, and do they have a specific service interval? The model I would prefer is the 170 bhp gt sport tdi but would also consider a 140 bhp. Cheers

The 140 from 07 ish onwards is the more reliable car.

Civic build quality not the usual Honda, according to a friend who has one. Multiple problems.

The Mk5 suffers frim problems with rust to the wings.
