Hey Everyone,

Just got myself a 99 / T plate VW Golf GTi 1.8 20v in black, in hindsight I was royally bent over but at the time £850 for 94k good condition gti seemed like a good deal.

Parted with the cash knowing the clutch has recently started slipping (only under extreme acceleration) and booked it in to my local mechanic for a check over.

1 day before it was due in I started hearing creaking coming from O/S/F wheel arch...  :embarrassed:

Today it went in for its check over and the mechanic called me and said the following...

Car has been involved in an accident which has caused the sub frame to be bent, needs new bushes on both sides, ball joint and arm...

Starting to think, maybe it was too good to be true..

He advised to change the subframe but its not too bad to hold on a tad longer til I can afford it and it seems the clutch is probably going to be alright for a while too so not all bad news..

Anyways here it is..

I know a lot about cars, man. I can look at any car's headlights and tell you exactly which way it's coming.
