'My Bridgestones seem to be getting better with age - not massively so, but they're less sh!te than they were. Most of these OEM fit tyres that are obsolete for the end user come with a reduced tread - 6mm instead of the 7 or 8mm that we're used to on our bought tyres. My Bridgestones are at about 4mm at just under 5k miles - I doubt they'll see 12k miles on the fronts.'
At only 1650 miles done, too early to comment on wear but my Bridgestones (S001) seem to have 'bedded' in now and so far, had no issues with them - they certainly give a very sharp, firm ride while so far, no traction issues. Checked the tread when I got the car and they'd 8mm on them. Incidentally, there's an interesting article about them on Tyrereviews.co.uk at the moment.
Having said that, I'll probably go with Goodyear F1 Assym 2s when they need replaced after my very positive experience with them on my Mk 6. Long way off though but hopefully there'll be some feedback by then!
