Tyre change?
« on: 12 March 2014, 13:26 »
Has anyone had to change their tyres yet?

If so has anyone moved away from the standard fit Contisport Contact 2's / Bridgestone S001's / Pirelli Pzero's and what did you go for? Any appreciable differences / recommendations?

Just curious .....  :nerd:

Any or all of the above. PS2s were fantastic and iirc have been phased out in favour of PS3 replacement.

Had one of mine replaced due to slow leak....

Dunlop SportMaxx RT - can't complain. In the wet a notch better than Pirellis so I heard.

When I change mine, it'll be Michelin PS3. Excellent all-round tyre. Grippy in all conditions, well wearing, decent rolling resistance, quite quiet. £120 a corner fitted at Costco. Sometimes there is a Michelin promotion on which gives you a £40 fuel card for every pair you buy, making them effectively £100 a corner. There's one on now that's due to finish sometime in March.

Had a pair on my Scirocco when the P7s wore down - excellent tyre.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I don't have my gtd yet but have been thinking my first replacement will be Vredestein Sessanta's. 80 quid a corner and they were stunning on my 2.2 civic, much preferred them to pilot sport's on that car and a good match for the torque - quiet, great steering feel and amazing in the wet. Look great too :)
