I'm running my first set of winter tyres on a second set of BBS alloys.  They seem to have performed well - when is the time to change back to normal tyres - do people go by a set date or according to the season?

Did it at the weekend. The cut off point should be around 8 degrees. It was that this morning here in London.

For you guys further south Id day you could probably start to change them now/soon!
As DoguL said the cut off is around 8 degrees
Up here in NI, I wouldn't be changing for a while yet as it was -1 this morning during the commute!

I'll probable change mine next week as I'm planning to spend some time giving it it's post winter decontamination. It will be nice to put its shiny, original wheels back on when it's all nice and clean.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Anywhere north of London is not "South' in my book lol.

Temperatures further South have often been below 7c over the winter with the 4c pinger sounding off on my commutes & daily travels.

Mind you I have just this week put the winter wheels back into store (black steels).
Nice to see the alloys back on again.

Also depends on the time of day you drive - the 8 degree days I mentioned can easily be less than half that early morning (but I rarely drive then).
