Hey,

That's pretty nasty. I used a place in Crawley a couple of years ago to repair an alloy that had some pit hole damage, which the main dealer was adamant was a new wheel and not repairable, this place repaired it the same day. Might be worth giving them a call, http://www.wheelworksuk.co.uk

Hope it helps,
Phil

Might be able to just get a local repair on that little area but it won't match as the diamond cut edge is damaged. I can't remember the place that can do diamond cut finish but some other guys on here will.

The only good thing is there are close by, the bad thing is i will have to run my Gti with the spare wheel for a week

Hastd2:

Those space-saver spares aren't meant to be run for long, or fast. Most have a 70-120 mile lifespan and can't be used at over 55mph. Those aren't ultra cautious guidelines either. My boss put his on and drove 150 miles from Sheffield back up to Newcastle on his Astra SRi, doing 65mph. Trouble was, at about 120 miles in, towards Scotch corner (Darlington outskirts), the tyre stripped and burst. Be careful!

if you have to run on spare for a week make sure to mount it on the back (and move full size to front), otherwise it will f**k your diff.

It's extremely annoying, I know the feeling... but I'd be tempted to leave it be for a while. It is very small and maybe a careful touch up with some lacquer would do for the moment. Sods law you'll scratch it again the week after it's fixed.

Definitely get it cleaned up with some alcohol and get some lacquer on it straight away before the whiteworm works its way in.
