Forge FMIC
« on: 07 March 2014, 16:11 »
Has anyone had one of these fitted http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=260317&product=FMMK7FMIC

I've had their stuff on a few of my previous cars and been very impressed with the results and the quality. They make some impressive claims in terms of intake temps and a 16bhp gain on a standard car.

I wonder what the results would be combining a FMIC, miltek, FSR+ tweaked by shark and a pipercross filter ?? For approx £3.2k I reckon you'd see best part of a 100bhp more and some serious torque...... Hmmm tempting

Sounds like a perfect combination, but I'll be waiting for the vagner one, should be finished development in a month I'm told. It's likely this setup will take the turbo to the limit as I'm sure I've read it's only good for 330bhp.

Where did you read that? Full Miltek turbo back & Shark tuning box alone can take you up to 320bhp.

It can do yeah but they don't release the map like that for the safety of your engine. Im sure I read it on here which probably isn't the best source lol but then I found this http://www.ihi-turbo.com/turbo-chart8.gif

I assume we're using a 6 based on that. Oh and I meant wagner not vagner lol but I suppose that's how you say it. How much more out of the turbo do you think we're gonna get?

Re: Forge FMIC vs Milltek Cat Back and Shark Box

Just re-read this and I see it was tested on the Milltek Car at Powerstation (same reg no on both and the Forge RR was on the 8th Oct 2013 and the Shark RR 24th and 25th Oct 2013). Strangely they also quote a similar increase (16bhp for the Forge FMIC versus a 20bhp increase for the full Milltek system).

So does that mean the Milltek car is running a Forge FMIC and therefore does the Turbo back exhaust with sports Cat only contribute 5bhp? Or is to maximise the Shark ECU Tweaks when the full works of upgrades are required?

Well if you read the article forge say they haven't tested it on a mapped car and shark tells me that's because it was removed from the car before they got to map it so no, but it annoys me to think it's not been thoroughly tested so I'll be waiting for someone else as we have no idea how it will cope on a tuned vehicle

I am having a Forge fitted in a couple of weeks. I chose this over a exhaust system(funds won't allow both) as I think it is more of a benefit to the car ie keeps temperatures down, especially as I plan to add a shark stage 2 in the summer.

So you're putting on an uprated fmic on a standard car? Not exactly how I'd do the priority list but I'd be interested in seeing a real before and after dyno or just an after tbh we should be able to.work it out anyway

I know it sounds ar**  about face but it does increase the power by about 16BHP and my present insurer won't cover a tuning box. I know i'm a bit impatient but that's me.

Change one thing and the addiction will soon take hold  still be insterested if you could dyno the car after installation
