Vw audi sticker

On my passenger side door at the bottom left is the outline of an vw ring and 4 audi rings. I assume there was a sticker there at some point in the past, is it just a random sticker someone had on or could it have been something else? It's basically 5 audi rings in a row with one of them containing the vw sign inside.

That but the other way around, it's the only bit of faded paint on the car so it must have been on there a pretty long time.
