How to/service sub forum?
« on: 31 August 2005, 10:20 »
Do you think you could create these for the site?

I thought in each section of model car, you could have a sub forum at the top. It this forum we could put all the how too's - relevant to that model of car and also basic service and MOT threads for that model! i think this would save all the "which oil do i use" threads etc?

Sound good? or am i talking *^%$£

Tis a good idea - I like it.

Would be very andy for everyone to know how to do oil changes etc themselves - save precious cash to spend on other items!!

Not sure it is worth a sub-board in each section but I have no problem with people writing these guides. Anything really useful can get set 'sticky' at the top of the relevant board. If you look at the mk2 section that is already happening (thanks to the moderators of that section :) ). Other sections can get done like that as well. If anyone writes something really useful such as you are suggesting deefadog, just message a moderator to ask them to set the topic 'sticky'.

In the longer term, if we end up with loads of useful info/guides etc then yeah, maybe we look at shifting them into their own section.

well jv how about havin just one how to guide within each car mk...as in if people have a how to guide..pm it to the relevent mod who'll then add it to one big "how to" thread...obv statin who's how to guide it was..then any newbies or people with problems cud quickly scroll throu this one long helpful thread before askin about their problem? also, having just one person add and mod it,saves any hi-jacks that may occur...
