Cylinder head cleaning

Anyone got any tips or know ways to do it. I have heard to I use dishwashers or cheap coke and leave it to soak. Have stripped the head completely including valve guides but want to give it a proper clean before I port it.

Big ole plastic bag some oven cleaner foam spray into bag, tie bag up leave over night and fairies will have you a shiny head by morning

Was in asda earlier so got 6 bottles of 17p Rola cola. If that doesn't work then the over cleaner is coming out for a sparkly new engine. Pretty sure I would be kicked out if the head made its way into the dishwasher though

I don't like cola sometimes if you don't get it all out it gets sticky big time!

Brick acid and strong picking acid worked well on mine but the pickle is very dangerous so take care.

Anyone with a aqua blaster near you? Parts come out brand new.

When we moved house there was actually an old dishwasher left in the garage just not plumbed in. Will see if that works.

To be honest that makes it quite a lucky thing in your house.  Your toaster, other halve's onesie, various walls and your chest of draws have lucked right out in comparison....
