Sorry, did not get chance to explain myself in full.  The Goodyear tyres are excellent low noise good performance in dry and wet.  I have a few tyre makes over the years the Pirelli P6000's i had on were not great in comparison.  I have had Vredestein's in the past when they were more reasonably priced, but now there is not much difference between them and Goodyear's.  Oh, the Goodyear's look nice and retro as well which I consider a bonus.

No, but I guess it could have come across like that!  Just cannot fault them, just fitted them to wife's Mk6 as well...though they were a lot more dosh than on my Mk2

Other option for me was Dunlop Blu-Response as they had nice retro look as well.

A mate has just fitted the Sportrac to his MX-5 and apparently is very pleased.

I have just fitted a set of four Michelin Pilot Sport 3 to my Corrado and I'm exceptionally pleased with them, even at £68 a corner.

Honakook Ventus Evo 12 or something are supposed to be very fine, too.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
