Agree, the front should look more aggressive but overall I like it.  Cloth is standard but there are two optional leather options:

1. Carbon nappa option which comes in a choice of 2 different colour combinations.  Carbon/Anthracite/grey or Carbon/grey-beige - a whopping £2615

2.  Vienna black leather - £1700

Think the cloth is two-tone with the bolsters being lighter.  Of those choices, I'd go for the all black leather but it should be standard.
i agree with you booth2 should be standard german tight arses

You say that but the German option list is huge.

Are the mirrors on that R with the two tone leather white or is it just the photo?

Its just the photo, I am sure however that I've seen black gloss mirror housings on white Golf R's.
Still this the styling could have been improved so that it looked better than the GTI/GTD.

I think it looks great at the front, still not fond of that red stripe through the lights on the GTI.

Not sure about the Quad exhausts but still high up there for my shopping list next year

I think they're a silver colour. I have just seen the first one on the road in Sydney which is incredible as we don't even have GTI's with Performance Pack yet (they arrive in May). This R has silver/greyish mirrors.

Specs on this car are Adaptive Chassis (I assume as it's standard on our GTIs), Driver Assist (the bundle that includes the cruise control radar and driver assist), 19s wearing crappy Bridgestones, DSG, black leather (not two-tone) and Discover Nav

Australian spec MY14 GTI | Pure White | Manual | Bi-Xenons as an option (vs UK: minus LED tails, plus DCC, plus RVC, plus Discover Nav).

Very nice   much prefer the other Pretoria 19's though

The mirrors are silver on the R but think black gloss mirror caps are or will be also available.

For me I think I'd still take a GTI pp in carbon grey with the 19" santiagos over that particular R. This is putting performance aside for looks of course.

I wonder if the MFD is full colour or if it's just a change of needle colour?

Just popped in to my local dealership to collect my car and when I was in they had two lapis blue R's sitting outside. Asked if I could test drive one which they where only too happy to oblige. The car I test drove was an automatic 5 door on standard 18"s.

Now I have never driven an automatic before so was a bit apprehensive so I sat in the passenger seat for the first few minutes while the salesman drove.

The result: Oh my god   this thing is massively quick. So much so that my heart was in my mouth when the salesman was flooring it. The acceleration was just on another planet from my GTI and really does knock your head back in the seat. I'm not sure if it has the same brake set up as the GTI PP but if it does then the salesman demonstrated to me how amazing the brakes are.

And the sound -  well it just sounds epic and you could hear the burble of the exhaust on the downshift. I went through a tunnel and floored it and the sound just boomed

When it was my turn I took it a bit easier than the salesman and it took a bit of getting used to with the automatic box but I just loved it. The changes felt very smooth and linear.

The verdict: Looks wise its still too understated for my liking but based on its unbelievable performance it would definitely make me consider it for my next car and I would without hesitation go with the dsg box.

On a side note - picked up my own car after two weeks at the dealership and drove it 100 yards and the noise I've been experiencing was still there. To say i'm not happy is an understatement. So the car has been left with VW until its resolved. I'm kind of hoping they will just say its not fixable and offer me a discounted R
