I'm picking up my GTD at Chester Volkswagen on saturday so hopefully i'll get to have a look. The dealership is brand new and they moved from down the road a few months ago.

Wheels look a little bland - maybe they'll look better in the flesh though.  The standard ones are more pleasing to the eye, but then they're too small IMO.  But - the rest of the car is the nuts, I reeeeealy want one  :laugh:

Thinking, just thinking!  :laugh: To be honest, the GTI is so much fun and such a great car I wouldn't change just yet.  But after 2 years I'll want to change - and that R in blue looks amazing, seriously tempted if the deal was right!!

Golf R in Chelmsford:









Looks ok but not keen on the carbon effect leather. Also think the front grille isn't as sporty as the gti/gtd's. Like the colour and the quad pipes though.

Is it just me or is that front grill too understated. It's almost as if VW are embarrassed they have created such a car and didn't want to brag and the seat options are poor.

Quad pipes to me is a little over the top and looks a bit tacky.

Rear wheels could do with a spacer and the whole car looks like it could do with a 40mm drop
