Saw a customers car that had been delivered at Peterborough VW at the weekend, looked really nice in the blue in the flesh but the standard alloys are hideous imo.

great colour, great rear view, but front not my liking, alloys nothing special
I agree, the Santiago's look way better from a design / look perspective compared to R alloys.

Do you think VW were perhaps going for an understated look on the front end with the R? I think when the ignition is on and the DRL's are lit up it will make the front look more aggressive.

I am right in thinking the rear light clusters are darker than on the GTI/GTD?

It looks lower than an GTI/GTD - is that the case, or are those photos a bit misleading?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yes it's 10mm lower and yes the rear clusters are darker.

I love the blue but I'm not mad on the wheels or the front end. The 19" version of the "Cadiz" wheel which is an option here in Ireland is nicer IMO.

Lovely car, but not keen on the alloys. The standard wheels would be my choice, much chunkier
