Hi guys,

there are some mk6 gti lowering springs for sale on here.

I'm really after the 15mm drop they offer, and the price is great.

only problem is the difference in kerb weights, I think the GTI is 1318kg, and my 2.0 tdi is 1381kg, so over 60kg difference. Not sure if the DSG box in my car adds more weight to the difference.

after opinions really, are these springs gonna work on my car, or will if F**k things up?!

cheers

JC

Personally wouldn't risk it, I've just fitted some 35mm H&R springs to my 2.0 TDI, thats a very subtle drop and they're only £140 from Awesome GTI....

thanks mate.

yeah, bit worried with the weight differences.

was hoping someone with a GTD would dropping their car lower and be selling their OEM springs

just after the 15mm drop, but might have to go 25mm

I think awesome quoted me something like £350 all in, springs and fitting.

Can I ask why only the 25mm Drop??? You could risk it, but personally I wouldn't even go there, it's not worth it, you'll probably just end up paying double in the future  ..

i've found some OEM GTD springs from a member on here, so gonna buy those, result!!

why only the 15mm drop? its my wifes car, and we've got a little baby in the back of it. I just want to get rid of that huge gap under the arches, without compromising ride too much and making it uncomfortable for them both when on poor road surfaces.

I think the GTD sits quite nicely at -15mm compared to the stock golf. Everyone has their own opinion of course!
