GTD Headlights seem very Low
« on: 23 February 2014, 23:53 »
Chaps,

I though I was going mad at first, but I'm not..
My GTD headlights seem low - I know they are supposed to 'self - level' but they don't shine very far at all.

So far coming from the Mk6 GT with standard headlights, I was expecting the GTD Xenon headlights to be much better, but they are actually worse!
I would say they light the road less that 2 car lengths - the MK6 would have been 3
Anybody else had this issue - and any idea's how to solve

Yeah on my Leon there was a white nut that you could turn near the light cluster I don't know if the mk7 has it but I don't see why not, try that, if it doesn't work do it again with vcds

Don't fiddle with anything take it straight back to the dealer for them to sort. Someone else on here had a problem similar and it was the lights that were faulty.

I've found on mine that the lit distance doesn't seem much longer (if any) than my Halogen equipped Scirocco, but the lit area is much brighter and more uniformly lit across the whole lit area (rather than seeing the intensity fade right towards the end of the beam, like the Halogens did).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Take it back to the dealership for a recalibration. They have a computer and distance board to set them up properly. It should have been checked at PDI...., wonder what else was missed :(

I am having to take my GTD back, because I am getting a squeaking noise at low speeds, which seems to come from the front suspension. Also had no GTD key fobs or Iphone lead

Off topic, but like a squirrelling hamster constant squeaking that you can hear or just a noise over bumps? If its the first one im going back on wednesday for this too but i have a feeling its more steering column than suspension, or something else but if its no different going up and down and you can hear it on flats i dont think its the shocks or springs.
