Exhaust vs rear beam vs me !
« on: 17 February 2014, 19:45 »
The thread title says it all really if theres 2 or more people in the car it hits the beam when hot theres about 11mm gap towards the front and about 15mm gap towards the back. I have literally tried everything I can possibly do myself cable ties twist it here twist it there nothing it will not give me a break.

I know if I could get the whole thing to shift towards the front some more maybe 20mm or so it will be fine but I cannot physically get it to move any more unless I shop abit off of my decat which I refuse to do in case it doesnt help !

My next soloution would be the ecs axle plates to shift the beam back abit I would obviously have to fiddle abit with the exhaust again but it will move away from the bit where its touching.... maybe.

Your opinions ?

It's not really a long term solution but it would make it less annoying, wrap some heat retardant foam or cladding around the exhaust or rear beam to make the sound less irritating.

Its not actually that bad its no where near a constant knock but when it does it its the most frustrating thing ever. that maybe a good idea no idea what to buy though but it will definitely make it less noticeable

have a go at re hanging the exhaust, you can usually angle/move it enough to give more clearance (it works when I lower cars when the axle knocks the exhaust)

How do you mean bud ? I have moved it up as far as it can go and tied the hangers in place. I think the problem is the decat

could be (or the angle of the middle box), If you can get some heat on the hangers you might be able to move/bend them slightly for clearance?
