water cooling on g60
« on: 30 August 2005, 18:51 »
anyone know if i can use the standard water cooling pipes from a 8 valver on the corrado g60 engine in my mk2? i could imagine they dont all fit but could save me a few qud if some do...

think its worth getting a golf rallye rad and intercooler for it as well, anyone know any good rads and intercoolers that they could recommended?

pretty sure the hoses don't fit. not sure there is any difference between rallye and corrado radiators in terms of function.....

yeah ive got that, got most bits, so ive figured out that i need:

cable conversion for the clutch, thats if easier than a hydraulic conversion!?!
figure out how to do the cable gear linkage, any idea if the corrado one fits?
waterpipes
supercharger
missing a pulley on the supercharger belt system
rad and intercooler

yea, not looking forward to the loom, gonna be great fun!!

Most of the standard 8v pipes will fit onto the G60 engine, remember the G60 is just a fiddled with 8v with a supercharger bolted to it.  The things you'll struggle with though are the pipes to the radiator, as I assume the G60 one is even bigger than the std 8v one?  And any pipes going to the G60 unit itself (does it have water cooling or just oil?)

hi, the superchargers is just on the oil system, getting the pipes should be fine, there 18 quid each from vw last time i checked.

yea the rad's gonna be a struggle, i havnt got a rad for it yet, was hoping to get a rallye one for it, not sure if the standard 8v will be enough.

Ah ok wasn't sure if it got coolant as well :)
Think Corrado radiators slot straight in, but you need to get the radiator fan & shroud to go with it, especially if you get a dual fan rad!
