Looking after Mk 6 GTI seats! (Jakarta cloth)

What are people doing to look after their seats in the car?

It's the one area I haven't invested in products for cos I think I don't really want to put shampoo near them etc in case they get stained or more stained should I say!

There are a few small stains on the driver seat now and I would really like to clean them up and add protectant. Iv'e read good things about about 303 Fabric Guard.

Anyone got any tips on products, technique?

For cloth seats a normally use a wet vac to clean the seat the protect them with 303.

Also i use a steam cleaner on them every so often but thats more get rid of any smells and water marks.
