white smoke out of exhaust and very moist !
« on: 14 February 2014, 08:36 »
First off sorry for the onslaught of threads ive been chucking up lately unfortunately this wont be the last il have another one related to my door when I get pictures.

Ever since doing the catch can install ive had what I thought was a little bit of smoke now after messing around with my miltek I obviously done the required thing I think everyone does, get a video. Looking back at it it smoke alot ! And now having the tip there I can see how much water builds up. Whats building up is very similar to what collects in my catch can virtually clear oily water, any ideas ? Is it just the can pumping it back into the car to be chucked out the exhaust ?

Video clicky

Looks like condensation to me. The smoke disapears and thats normal for this type of weather. If it was white smoke and didnt disapear then i would be worried. In this video you cant realy tell what the smoke or steam is doing. Try getting another video of it but further away from the car
P.s your exhaust sound good along side with the turbo whistle

Was your engine cold or warm there? Id only be alarmed if the engine was cold. And that whistle sounds sweet! Decatted?

Don't you mean warm?

Is condensation smoke not a natural byproduct taking into the account of the system being metal cold on a cold start and the hot exhaust fumes hitting the cold air at the end of the system?

It was pretty cold I think maybe 60/70 ish ?
Yeah 3" decat to the 2.5 miltek loads of people say the milltek is too quite but I completely disagree when you want to hear it it shouts and screams but equally you can drive without knowing its there so glad I went for it in the end!

Il be getting a few more videos at the weekend probably sunday when my local 'test track' is empty :D

As the others have said, it's condensation and is completely normal with a cold engine.

I also have a 3" decat and 2.5" Milltek, it's perfect imo :afro:

Good nothing to worry about then other than a slight knock from the exhaust, when its hot if I reverse it knocks and if I pull away spiritedly it knocks but theres a good inch of clearance over the axle so I think its hitting the rear bumper as its really close. But other than that your right dom it is perfect ! Get the odd gargle to which you can help but smile at lol
