Driver & passenger footwell heaters not working
« on: 12 February 2014, 07:03 »
Morning all, newbie alert...

Had a MK5 GT TDi now for a couple of years, had no probs with it really apart from the usual general wear and tear....  But I've noticed last couple of weeks that the heaters in the footwells aren't that great, windscreen and main front heaters are blowing brilliant and get really hot, but the two footwells aren't providing any heat at all.  Its the dual control unit.  Anything I can check myself, just don't really know where to start.

I would guess its an issue with the flap motor. Sometimes you can just reset the learned stop positions with vagcom but they usually need replacing. Each flap motor is around £180 from the dealers, and they do need calibrating with a diagnostic tool when they're fitted.
