Warning lights
« on: 11 February 2014, 07:21 »
Guys it's happened again
While am away working in Angola, the wife says the Auto hold warning light came on and the Tyre pressure light came on and ACC came on!!!, when she started up the car, so she turned the car off then on again and the lights were still there!!!, she drove back up the road to the house, less then a mile and turned off the car then on again and the lights had gone off
This happened 3 weeks ago, and i went into the dealer for them to plug the car into their computer to see what the problem was and see if there was anything stored in the memory, but nothing was stored. so a phone call today will be made to get this fixed, as this will unsettle the wife while am away for a month working.

Has anybody else came across this errors popping up on the dash??

The wife called the VW dealer, and was told just to forget it until it comes on again, then get in touch. There is no point coming in with the car if there is no warning lights. But when i was in the last time i was told to come straight in and we will hook it up to the computer and see if there is anything stored in the memory......

Am I looking into this too far that they are trying to pull the wool over my wifes eyes and fobing her off???

Will keep an eye on it and see what happens

Wool over the eyes! warning notifications will be logged on the car's system for the dealer to recall.

Hi, I am new to this forum, and would like to point out that I too am having similar issues.

It has happened on two occasions now. The first time was on the way home from work while going right on a roundabout just as I got on the throttle. I had ABS, ACC, ESP, hill hold, e handbrake and a couple of others pop up. Also the orange and red chevrons appeared and more alarms going off than a bank robbery. The car seemed to have forgotten it by the morning so gave it the benefit of the doubt.

But the second time last night was way more serious. As well as the above, I lost my speedo on both digital and analogue, lost power steering and had gearbox failure warning (I have dsg) which scared the cr@p out of me. I took photos too which I can't figure out how to attach.

I rang VW first thing this morning and was told if I'm unhappy to drive it then call RAC as they will not collect it! And also if I want a courtesy car then I'd have to book in after 20th Feb and also pay for it!!

RAC came out tonight and said sorry can't touch it as it has airbag faults showing up. But also said vagcom isn't showing up any faults as above. I feel a stroppy phone call to VW coming on in the morning.

did you drive throu flood?  :lipsrsealed:

seriously, phone vw, tell them RAC won't touch car as it's not safe, so how can it be safe to drive. it has warranty so they should sort it out.

Plumby: Can't believe RAC claim those faults aren't logged in VAGCOM. Take pics just in case there is something weird going on with the logging. Do they believe the log or the lights they see on the dash with regards to airbag fault?

If neither RAC nor the local/supplying VW dealer will pick it up, ask another dealership and failing that, get on to VW UK and your supplying dealership and threaten to reject the car if no-one will collect a car that is potentially dangerous to drive.
