DSG Pedal height difference

Anyone else find the pedal height difference between the brake and accelerator awkward? It might be different on a manual.

No, doesn't feel awkward at all.   Is yours manual or DSG?   

Have you got unusually large or small feet

It's DSG...No my feet are rather normal .

Maybe you need to shift your driving position back a bit?  Or try yoga - gives you very flexible feet 

Do you find it more tiresome in stop start traffic?

I've messed about with the seat position, I have the rake adjustment at it's max and could do with a bit more reach with my shoulders on the backrest.

It doesn't feel natural to have the brake much higher than the accelerator. Had a look at two other cars (both manual) and the pedals sit at the same height.

Have to say I have never noticed but my DSG is the same, brake higher than the accelerator.

Ah well, you're not alone then.  Has it only recently started bothering you or have you always found it awkward?  My last 3 cars have been golf gti's, so guess I'm just used to it and never gave it a second thought till your thread. 

Trouble is you could spend forever messing about with driving position, there are so many variables.  I remember someone once drove my car for one day and changed just about every position setting going, including the steering wheel position.  It took me weeks to get it back to my ideal!

Some cars come with a memory function for your preferred setup, I would like that .

I've noticed it on and off, with your foot in front of the accelerator if you move it to the side you bash the side of the brake pedal? I had a MK5 GTI with DSG and it seems similar except I had cloth seats and not leather.

Maybe it's a feature of floor mounted accelerator pedals, the MK7 GTI DSG has done away with the floor mounted pedal.

It must be you.    I've never bashed my foot on the brake.

Agree, a seat memory function would be a nice feature.

Didn't realise that the mk7 had switched to a top hinged accelerator pedal.   
Does that mean both pedals are the same height then?  Maybe that's your solution - you'll just have to get a mk7.  I personally prefer the floor mounted accelerator.  Am planning on getting an R in 18 months though, so I'll have to come to terms with the change eventually
