might help if you put where your from? doubt someone who lives in london is going to be willing to drive up to scotland to fit a fmic.

as for dv location 6 & 2x3 to me

supposidly cold side (front of engine) is better, and i can see the reasoning, after all its colder air thats going to be put back into the engine. but never seen any figures to support this. and imo i think having a massive pipe from front to back of engine is just ugly so id fit at back.

I suppose if you could get that pipe to look hidden/ OEM looking I don't suppose it would look to bad, but I know what you mean I have seen people just have a pretty much straight pipe going from front to rear with little curve

sorry im in northamptonshire.forge motorsport say that the pipe off the front under the throttle cable can house a dump valve with the pipe going to the turbo. but others say that the air pipe from turbo to induction is best?

Your scooby would of more than likely had a blow off dump valve. The 1.8ts do not get on with BOV you need to use a recirc valve. The downside is that they are quiet. BUT. If you use a forge 007p or 008 valve pear that with a cone induction kit (a decent one) then you will get the tssssssssh your after. Granted it still wont be as loud as your scooby but it will be alot better than stock

I did have my diverter valve next to the throttle body but have since moved it close to the turbo

Closer to turbo is what you need.....hence reason car manufacturers put them there.

Thats a biga$$ fmic you got there. What size is the piping and what turbo do you have on it?
How much did that setup cost you?
