How long is/was your wait from VW dealer??

Hi guys

How long did you have to wait for your mk7 GTI/GTD to arrive at the dealership? Are you still waiting for delivery?

I've ordered my GTD with a couple of extras. I've been quoted a delivery of around 5 months :-( I was told the demand for the GTI/GTD is really high hence the waiting time. What are the chances of the car arriving early????

Hey there, I ordered a GTD on 16th October and my build week starts next week (BW7). Fairly long wait but I was waiting for my current lease to end anyway so didn't matter.

Ordered mine on 15th October and have just been given my build week of 12 (17th March).

I think delivery times are stupidly ridiculous for a car manufacturer as big as VW!

I could have gone for a 120d M Sport in half the time! But then again...it worked out a lot more expensive!

Also, why is there such a variation between people in terms of wait times? Do people getting it direct from dealers get their cars quicker?

I ordered 16th Nov. Car arrived at dealer this week. I was quoted 21 weeks lead time. I wouldn't think you will have to wait too long

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Hopefully the dealer is just playing it safe by quoting 5 months (flippin' hope he is anyway!!!)

I agree that a manufacturer as big as VW, and in the wider spectrum VAG shouldn't have build times as long as this. What is strange is that I could've had an A3 184 within about 10 weeks. Same group, admittedly different manufacture so not the best comparison.

As mine is a company car I'm just waiting for the dealer to confirm estimated bw & order no etc. I hope I don't get inferior customer service due to being company buyer and not private?!

I waited 25 weeks for mine but that was when the order books opened in march.
