Sill protection

Thought this night be of some interest to others here.

When I picked up my car there had been some slight scratch damage to the drivers sill. The dealer was very good about it and arranged for it to be painted immediately. As part of this, I negotiated the VW sill protectors FOC. At £125 I was marginally disappointed to learn they were essentially big stickers.

Anyhow, they arrived and actually, they're more than that. A very, very tough plastic which is applied like a decal. Imagine the top of a skateboard, but a lot, lot smoother.

Picture below shows one fitted, and I must say, I'm really impressed with them. The flash in the photo makes it stand out way more than it does in real life. Follows the lines nicely, looks OE (which it of course is) and will protect the very vulnerable sill.

What do you think?

£125? That seems a bit steep, but as you're probably quoting dealer prices...

LE: forgot to say that I have mine on order and will be fitting them first thing after the initial detail.

Nice, I quite like those!  Although I wouldn't pay £125 for them, AHW's price is much better

If those are the genuine ones on the link, I'd say get then bought! Comes with all the helpful bits to fit them

You can trust that all AHW's products are genuine. They're specialized in OEM VW and Audi accessories.

Please note that if you have 4 doors and want some for the back as well, you need to select 4-doors when ordering and buy 2 sets.

Are they fairly easy to line up and get applied without air bubbles etc?

I would be tempted to get these if my car wasn't white. They look fine on dark colours but would stick out like a sore thumb on mine

Yep AHW comes from "Autohaus Wipprecht" which is a german VW dealer.  It's where my R lights and my roof rack came from. Much cheaper than your local VW dealer even with shipping.

2 sets? My 4 door kit was just one set?

Well, it does say in the description that the set contains 2 stickers, and the info is the same after you select 4 doors.
Better to ask before ordering if you've got 4 doors...
