What about the other place that the 2.0 TFSI engine ends up?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201312160548899/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/se77nq/radius/1500/page/2/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/skoda/keywords/vrs/model/octavia/price-to/4000?logcode=p

Upsides:
Practical
Good value
Low mileage
Tuneable VW engine

Downsides
Not as desirable
Bigger, maybe not as nimble as a hatch.
A bit "grown-up"

Cant believe how cheap they are, got me thinking now! Can tune it up/tart it up and still have change!
Plus being the 1.8t its reliable, can be good on fuel and parts are a doddle to scource

For me you can't beat a turbocharged motor for an every day car. You can pootle around and get high 30's mpg or press on at 7-8 tenths without making a fuss and drawing attention to yourself, or have a complete blast when no one else is looking.

With the Civic you only have 2 options. Pootle around with no torque on tap, or scream everywhere at 8,000+ revs to make progress, but make yourself look like a dick when you overtake a couple of cars.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Has to be the EP3, I have the pleasure of driving one. Apart from being a little too big there is not much I can say that is bad about them. The gear stick actually grows on you and I bet after an hour you will think it was a genius idea!

Go for the EP3 and never look back!

Quite like the look of that mazda 6 mps ,

Ibiza cupra I find it hard to get a low millage one in good condition

I used to like the skodas but they don't appeal to me anymore

I'm going to go drive a civic this weekend and see if I can find a mps aswell

But got some bad news today that honda are having another job cut at the factory next month so not sure if I can afford a new car if that happens but still continuing my search as of yet

Is that because the Civic isn't selling that well? I was looking round the new Civic estate that my mate from Honda drives round in. They have high hopes for it, but I'm not so sure.

Mate - go for the MPS, it's a complete animal. You won't be disappointed. Low insurance too considering the power.

Only really two things to watch out for with them - some suffer VVT issues. Very easy to diagnose, simply start cold with bonnet open and windows open and listen for what sounds like a chain Hitting plastic. If that's the case, it's got VVT issues. The sound lasts about 1-2 seconds and will cost around 600-700 to fix at somewhere like totalMPS. It's a rare issue though.

Second is a smokey turbo. Idle it for 10 minutes, if it's smoking then walk away. Sign of it not being looked after/cooled down/warmed up.

Other than that, try are totally bonkers quick and so much fun. I have a 3MPS and it's by far the best car choice I've ever made. The power delivery hits like a sledge hammer.
