Re-setting dsg?
« on: 02 February 2014, 18:41 »
Has anyone tried resetting the dsg? I have been told by someone that when you turn the car on and wait till all the lights stop flashing, press the accelerator pedal all the way down for 10 seconds you will hear a click and this is the dsg resetting itself! Does anyone know of this or tried it? My gear changes feel abit jerky sometimes and I suffer roll back on hills that I don't remember the car doing before? Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hello pal,

I would recommend taking your car to a VW dealership. My gearbox was quite jerky and I ended up getting the software updated for the DSG. Just complain that its jerky and doesn't feel right. Don't know if it will cost if you are out of warranty as its not a "recall" but its worth a shot - it solved my issues !!

Currently Standard !!

Hey Richard, I did the DSG reset on my MK5 DSG and it involve doing quite a few thing, one of which been staying at 30mhp or 40 mph for 5 mins without shifting gear, so you need a long road.

I did end up make a big difference. But as above, you could go to dealer first and see if there is an update.

Cheers guys for the replies, as it's under warranty I will give the dealers a call and see what they say.
