How well did this transformation go in the end then?
I am planning on doing the same, I have a 2.0 petrol GL estate (I think its a AGG engine from an 8v GTI or similar) and the brakes feel like treading on a mushroom, they are shocking!
Did you transfer across the rear ARB in the end?
Also can anyone explain the tie-rod differences a little more clearly (I had to get a mechanic to change one on my 16v when I bent one on holiday and I suspect they may have put one in that is the wrong size, the thread had to be all used up when the car was tracked).
