Mk4 golf 1.8t turbo problem

Hi bought a mk4 golf 1.8t for cheep the lad said it didn't run properly but was cheep enuf and very clean the problem is it just doesn't seem like the turbo is coming in at all and haven't really got a clue what to do next tried a few things but still nothing has any one got any ideas thanks

Check the boost pipes for any leaks. When u rev the engine do you hear any hissing noises

Get it scanned for fault codes.

As Dom says get it scanned it could be one of a few problems ranging from a blown turbo to a boost leak just out of interest what year is it
Also does it seem to drive ok ie running sweet just no turbo

1999 1.8t AGU, KO3s, forge 007p, silicone tip and charge pipe, oil catch can, SS turbo back system, pipercross CAI, g60/vr6 clutch, 40mm apex springs, drilled and grooved discs, stage 2 remap.

Then he walks away muttering "what's wrong is it never had a turbo"
I know a few dealers like that!!

Hi it is a 2000 runs mint just no turbo and checked pipes no splits

Also carnt get computer to connect to car I was using snap on ethos I don't know why someone did mention a aftermarket radio could stop it but don't know if this is true

If you've got an aftermarket headunit then you need to check that there is nothing connected to the k-line. Take the headunit out look at the lower iso block, there should be nothing connected to the grey and white wire that is part of the factory wiring.

You need to get it scanned really as it could be any number of things wrong.

I will take the radio out now and have a check is there anything else what could stop it connecting
