Starter motor

Hey,

Great. My poor golf has been sick for ages, but I get in it today and the bloody starter motor has died.  :cry:Not good. Go down to my local Halfords and they tell me a new one from them will set me back... wait for it.. £156!!!! were they trying to be funny?

Cant get hold of my mate who has several golfs in bits in his garden! I've found one on ebay, says its off a mark 2 gti, but it dosn't say what year it's from. Are they all the same?

Has anyone here got one kicking around they could part with? I can't survive without my car!

However my mate has pulled through. He had one in his garage. Yey! Car will hopefully start again! Although I'll still have all its many other probs to sort out. Ho well.

Bit late but yes all 8v GTIs have the same starter motor :)

16V starter motor in gsf - £70ish quid with an exchange for your knackered one!
