Need help with my mk2 heaters

Right guys I need some help. Being new to the vw scene I don't want to go and buy the wrong bit and not cure the fault.
Basically was getting the car cleaned turned on the heater and wooosh my car turned into a sauna
Water in the footwells wet carpet etc etc. had a look at the was coming out from somewhere behind the centre console. I drove it down to work yesterday kept the blowers off and heat off (was fully on cold) pulled up and was again welcomed with wet carpet. Dripping from the same place as before.
Could this be the matrix (like I thought it was)
Or could it possibly be the heater control valve that's leaking?
It does have that bypass valve thing that they were recalled for too.
Any advice? Cheers

Itll be the matrix. Replace it and remove the bypass valves as they are not needed with the newer matrix as its a mk3 superceded part youll fit

If you need to use car in meantime just disconnect the two water pipes under bonnet going into bulkhead and join them together. Then refill expansion bottle and run the car up to temp with expansion cap off and top up until fully bleed.

Cheers dude, I read on the corrado forum you can bypass it like that. But wasn't too keen, as long as it's ok like that I don't mind doing it. I'll get a new matrix ordered up.
Thanks again
