Hi

Im new to this forum.

My reason for joining is two fold.

First (& the most important) Im on the verge for doing an engine convertion for my petrol T4 Im looking at putting in a mk3 2.0 8v( i have been told that the 8v will suit the van better as 16's power is more "up top" and not suited to the van!) in my T4 as they are near identical..but have more than the 70bhp the AAC pops out! I thought I may be able to get a well looked after engine on here and most of the bits I need.

2nd is that im also considering building a mk3 gti van out of a 3 door so my T4 is not my daily!

Welcome! Plans sound alright! Why not put a TDi in the T4? Cant imagine MPG would be very good with the petrol engines!? Bit more work but could be worth it overall!

Mk3 van could be good! Not sure on the 3dr idea though...id do it with an estate personally...

I live within the LEZ and my van is 96 so if I stuck a tdi in it I would have to fork out £3k for a dirty great cat (which would stay on my van for about 3 hours and then get cut out and stolen!!!)

I'm a planner, i dont need a van I just have a think about them..I just saw a mk3 golf van recently and thought...i want on of those..they dont come up on ebay very often, but they are just 3 doors with the rear windows filled in!

I may go for a 1.8T if once comes up for the right price
