Volume display on instrument cluster
« on: 21 January 2014, 08:20 »
Hi,

A slight mystery!  For the first two days of owning my golf, when I changed the volume on the stereo it showed as a little moving red bar on the centre dispay in the instrument cluster. Now this has vanished!  Any idea if this is a setting somewhere? I am not aware that I have changed any settings on the car.  It's a bit of a mystery!

I would really appreciate it if some of you on here can see if you have the volume display on your instument cluster.

I'm loving the heated windscreen, and the fact that the engine heats up really fast. I literally have hot air coming through within a minute of starting the engine, brilliant on these cold mornings.

I have, a little line along the top of the display... which increases the amount of red as volume increases...

I think the red volume bar only appears if you adjust volume via the controls on the steering wheel. It doesn't appear if you adjust volume with the rotary knob on the media unit.

Hi,

I have just been out and checked the display, and the volume bar has reappeared!  It must have been a software glitch

Fyi the steering wheel controls don't work without the ignition on.

My volume bar only appears in the MFD for a short time after adjustment, something like 10 seconds, and then it disappears, whether I adjust volume from the steering wheel or the knob on the radio unit.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Just checked - only get red volume bar in the MFD if I use the MFSW volume control. If I use the rotary knob then I get a red bar on the media display.
