New GTI owner
« on: 20 January 2014, 23:45 »
Hi all, new member.
Recently got a 1.8t GTI running a few mods.

Looking for performance tips and ideas and hoping to pick up some knowledge of my new car.
Here's my ride, hopefully you'll like it :)

I'll soon be posting a thread requiring help about some problems I'm having so I hope some of you can help :)

Recently an Airbag light. Think this could either be the wires under the passenger seat or because I turned the ignition on and off very fast. People tend to move the seat forward and back often, my mum being short and best friend quite tall.

The rear door, will not lock unless the lever is pressed down on the door. Won't open from inside and takes 2 pulls to open from outside.

And a quiet tapping on the osf wheel area. Sounds like something is spinning with the wheel and catching something. It's not always there though. And occurs at random times.

Quick update on everything,

Did the Diagnostics, resistance too high on passenger seat. So I need to get that sorted and have a good look for any broken wires.

Upon checking the osf wheel, I noticed the wheel not even on tight. Got the wheel off, everything looks fine, no play in bearings and nothing broken. Though there's a few chunks missing from the disk. New pads and disks will be ordered next week.

Not had time to look at the back door yet. Got the weekend off so providing it isn't snowing I'll have a look. If I can't fix it I'll get a new door from a scrappy.

Since the last time on here, I've ordered a catback milltek 4motion exhaust, bought a fmic, new 4 motion rear valance from VW, black badge, blue smd for sidelights and interior lights, and some other small goodies. Hope it looks good for Bugjam this year!

I'm at your end, High Green bud. Like 5 mins away from Barnsley.
