whats the best size tyre for some 17x7.5 tt wheels to fit on my mk3 gti?The current tyres are 225/45..?

195 or 205/40/17's are what you need

my 16v has 205 40 17's
Hopefully the TT wheels are 5x100 and not 5x112.

They came from a mk1 TT..not comps but the flat 6 spoke rims.
