Leak in passenger side footwell and glove box - HELP
« on: 20 January 2014, 11:19 »
Did a search on this and couldn't find anything!

Last week with all the heavy rain we've been having lately, I noticed the car was starting to smell a bit damp. Over the weekend I looked in my glove box and there was a small puddle and mould!

Checked the carpets and they were soaked as well on the passenger side. Im guessing this is pollen filter related or something but have no idea really! Just after some advise before i take it to the dealer. Hopefully you guys have had some past experience of this

Cheers!

Check all the seals under the bonnet and around the doors, as well as looking in the pollen filter housing itself. If it's not obvious (i.e. a split seal) then will probably need a good look over by someone with the right knowledge.

Good luck getting it fixed mate, no one likes to hear about this kind of problem!

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

A suggestion if nothing obvious shows up, sounds a bit crazy, but maybe get someone to run a hose on a light spray over the car while you're inside, see if you can see exactly where the water is entering from.
