I was mate, forgot about those completely!

Would be a good upgrade path for those wanting the look of drilled with OE quality, I'm not too keen on drilled as they always seem to crack when used on track unless your talking mega £s forged with the holes from the start stuff

As an aside, can you source Brembo 08.A202.11 mate? Rear 282x12 premium plain rotors?

A pair of 08.A202.11 are showing as £71 delivered (and are the painted type)

Cheers mate! After a rear pair to match the painted front ones when I get round to putting the R32 brakes back on

The only 'performance' discs that Brembo do as an OE fitment (other than replacement 2 piece stuff) is the 'max' range, sadly it's not available in either the gti 312 or r32 345 fitment

If you are dead set on Brembo (their regular stuff doesn't IMO offer any improvement over OE dealer discs) then consider the 'premium' range which come with a higher carbon content to the steel and painted bells and edges to protect against corrosion and some come with better cooling vanes thanks to the Brembo PVT utilisation

In your case Mike I'd definitely consider the 340x30 Audi TTS front disc, lighter than the 345 by nearly 2kg a side, MUCH better and bigger cooling vanes (PVT) and does away with the 2mm lip on the disc edge that the 345 disc gets when worn, cheaper too as I've just got a pair of Brembo 'premiums' for £102 delivered

So would the fact the discs are 5mm smaller in diameter be OK to use with stock Golf R callipers? They sound like my bag, being lighter by 2kg. And being cheaper is always a winner.

Also, if I used the 340x30mm, would these also work with AP Racing 4-piston callipers? Just thinking about future upgrades.

The 340mm disc will work fine with the Golf R/R32/S3 caliper, as Radius not diameter is king in braking terms you are only 'losing' 2.5mm in effect

Neither the 345 or 340 will work with AP 4 pot calipers, but tbh it would be a travesty to hang APs over heavy single piece discs..

Audi R8 4 pot rear calipers with the correct brackets will work with the 345mm discs, but you'll need on average a 10mm spacer if you keep your standard wheels

Ah, OK then. Think for now I may just go for the OE discs for the rear with standard Brembo pads, up front will upgrade from OE discs to Brembo performance and pads at a later stage. I'm only running 266BHP so no need for serious braking power just yet. Not until I hit the track days anyway...
