Most will approve of this

Pre 1990 cars would be a good starting point
Im not going to whine about the unjust situation, other than its simply not fair to crucify people with older cars that are fast becoming classics

I'm all for that having just paid £225 again.

I'm sure that the reason they stopped doing it in the first place was because people took advantage and drove around in 25 year old bangers to avoid paying tax. Nowadays, it would be easy to limit tax exemption to genuine classics, as they could be on a classic database linked to the type of limited mileage insurance policy they have.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

An easy way round this, you pay your "tax bill" for your car when you have it MOT for the miles done that year, also add to this that you must MOT a car before its sold so that unroad worthy cars are not being sold on, and every car would then be sold with 12months MOT on it.

Ive just had my bike tax come through as its a 650 (falls into the over 600 bracket) its gonna cost me nearly 80quid for the year, in the last year I only did 750miles on the bike gets very expensive for a fairly economical vehicle.

Lewy! It's when the car is 30 years old, not the owner!
