Okay had a laugh the other night at a local garage which led to shall we say me returning the car
mrs dad got himself a mk4 tdi very tidy and somewhat over priced from a local garage i immediatley found the passenger door lock module to be faulty when i got it home apparentley the dealer had mentioned having to press the fob frequently to lock the car,so i had a word (semi-politely :lipsrsealed:) to tell them to get the module replaced, dropped the car off the other morning told them its defo the door module as i scanned it for codes via vag-com  well heard nothing for a day or so so thurs afternoon i rang to be told yes the car locks perfect now come pick it up when ever,so went down and went and tried the locking etc to find same fault  oh yes we have saved the part for you so i glanced in the car to see a part on the passenger seat which was this!!

WTF! funniest mk4 door module i have ever seen! so i said sarcastically you have def replaced said module, yes was the owners reply well i just turned and said well mate the part you have wasted time replacing is a fcuking window regulator  well i had to laugh when he came out with  and i quote "Well its a feature on the mk4 golf the locking is supossed to do that" yep okay i said clearly you haven't got a clue have you,,,,,,,,,so after me pointing out a noisy wheel bearing plus three other faults my suggestion was i'll be bringing your car back and my mrs's dad will be getting back the cash he paid for his golf, well he finally agreed and he got his cash back yesterday plus i had a laugh as i swapped a few bits over onto my golf  :lipsrsealed:
Oh and today we passed the garage the cheeky cnut has it back up for sale at £200 more than the original price  i won't be naming the garage but i certainly wouldn't recommend buying a car from them or having it serviced either! still result in the end he got his money back and i aqquired some new parts

Hmm, the guys clearly have no idea what he is talking about. Window regulator?! Wrong, the problem with the door locks is the auxiliary belt.. it's a feature on mk4 golf, the locking is supposed to do that
