That's why all my brands are listed on my site and as close to o.e as possible although I do also have some cheaper brands on offer

My budget brand for these sensors are cambiare (with a 2 year warranty) and my quality is febi (or hella by request)

I would go for a original Siemens VW/Audi one if you can not a cheap copy.
Hella Sensors can originate from India I have never fitted one or seen one fitted on a VW so cant say how long it will last.

To be fair I have found the crank sensor its self doesn't fail if a original part, its usually the insulation of the cables that age harden due to heat then crack.
If your oil light is coming on as well its possible the insulation has exposed loam and touching your oil sender.

Currently having this dilemma with my car...what brand to buy? I had this problem a few years ago, bought the ECP budget brand, lasted all of 3 days. Took it back and got their oe equivalent (unsure of brand) , 18 months later later. It's cutting out again, scanned and crank sensor code is coming up again. Been looking around and have a few options....

Mobiletrom @ 12.99, supposedly they supply to fuel/intermotor (they look the same and cost 3 times the price), 2 year warranty supposedly .

Topran/ Hans pries ,  oe  quality supposedly, 1 year warranty, £22.90.
Febi at £45.

Can't Shell out 80 quid for a vw part, but don't want to be doing this job again anytime soon!

well here's my thoughts, Mobiletrom at 12.99 is amazing value (I wish I pay that for my stock!) but how good is the 2 year warranty??

Topran can be really good stuff (quality is very variable! hence I only sell very few parts made by them!), I did try a few more of there products but my returns/warranty rate was too high for my liking.

Febi is my main stock and i can't fault them for quality or warranty claims (I have a return rate of under 1% which is lowest of all my electrical suppliers which include intermotor, fuel parts, hella and cambiare)

When buying any over moulded sensor look for flow lines, silvering, discoloration etc in the plastic casing around the sensor housing and cable outlet. The more you have the more chance you have of failure in extremes of temperature or water immersion.
The cheap gear is let down by bad manufacturing where cycle to cycle the process changes through manual input and cheaper plastic mixed with re ground resin and loads of master batch (colour) to hide the nasties.
I have worked in automotive manufacturing and as the parts get older the the quality goes down with the price.
OEM is always best, and if its made in Germany its as good as OEM

I'm a Delphi dealer but can't find an application for your car! (dosent mean it wont fit and work fine), I say go with febi or if you want the o.e maker then I do VDO one's for £56.00

Yes both are made by VDO Siemens and identical in every way (except the box and price)
